Hi! My name is Vondie Cook and I am the pastor of the First Church of God. It has been my privilege to be the pastor of this congregation for fourteen years. In that time we have seen a lot of changes to our area and our church. In the past fourteen years we have seen the church more than triple in size, and our ministry giving has increased more than six times what it was in 1990. With these increases we have seen our faith increase as well. Currently our church is engaged in a journey to relocate to our new church property on Crescent Road across from Crescent School. We are striving to “Possess the Land…Continuing the Journey.”
God has blessed me with a wonderful family. I am happily married to the love of my life, Teresa Cook. She and I have been blessed to have three terrific children. Our son, Chance, is ten and our twin daughters, Courtney and
Tyra, are seven. We also have a dog named Zeke.
It is my prayer that you will sense God at work in and through the First Church of God. I hope you will take the time to look through the ministries outlined on this site. Thank you for visiting our web site. I hope you find it inviting and informative. Our goal at the First Church of God is to reach our community and world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
